Harvey Barnes: Leicester City midfielder recalled from West Bromwich Albion loan spell
Leicester have recalled midfielder Harvey Barnes from his loan spell at West Brom, the Premier League club have confirmed.Barnes, 21, chipped in with nine goals and six assists for the Championship side this season, but the Foxes confirmed on Friday he has been brought back to the King Power Stadium.Barnes will be available for the match against Southampton on Saturday, subject to Premier League approval.A club statement read: “Harvey Barnes has re-joined the Leicester City squad after being recalled from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.“The 21-year-oldhas scored nine times in 26 appearances for the Baggies in the Championship this term, as well as contributing six assists to help keep Darren Moores side in the automatic promotion race. “Subject to Premier League approval, Barnes will be eligible for Leicester Citys Premier League fixture against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.”Barnes began his career in Leicester’s academy system and his spell with West Brom was the third he had spent away from the club on loan.The youngster had previously represented MK Dons and Barnsley, before firing the Baggies into a promotion race throughout the first half of 2018/19.He made his Premier League debut last April and ended the 2017/18 season with three top flight appearances to his name.
