Maurizio Sarri dismisses criticism from Chelsea fans after FA Cup defeat to Man United and says his side were ‘unlucky’
Maurizio Sarri insists he is only worried about results after the Chelsea fans turned against him during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester Unitedin the FA Cup on Monday night.Boos greeted the half-time whistle after goals from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba had put United in control against the holders. The dissent grew towards Sarri in the second half, with his predictable substitutions and refusal to compromise on his possession-based style of play leaving vast swathes of the home support to chant f*** Sarri-ball.Chelsea supporters even joined in as United fans sang You’re getting sacked in the morning.Time could be up for Sarri2

The Italian, however, is not fazed by the criticism. He told talkSPORT after his side exited the competition: I have to work on my players, not on the fans.Im concerned about the results. I can understand the fans because the result was not good, but I am worried about the result. The Blues suffered a third defeat in their last five matches and, once again, they failed to threaten the opposition goal in Sarris unchanging system. They started brightly, but a recurring vulnerability at the back saw the game put beyond their reach before the half-time whistle.Nonetheless, Sarri maintains he was pleased with the performance and his team were unlucky. We were unlucky, we played a very good first half and the result was 2-0 at the end of the first half, he added. It was a familiar tale for Jorginho and co.2
It was a familiar tale for Jorginho and co.
I am happy because sometimes we stop playing, but in this much we didnt stop playing. But in the second half we played confusing football. We were nervous. We need to find more determination and aggression in our box and the opposition box.We need more movement without the ball.
