Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is hopeful Kevin De Bruyne could return from injury in time to face Brighton in Sunday’s pivotal Premier League showdown.The Belgian has been out with a hamstring injury, but could feature at the Amex this weekend as leaders City bid to retain the title – which will be guaranteed with a victory.2

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: “He has made part of the training sessions for the past two days. He could (play).”On Fernandinho the news was not so good, with Guardiola adding: “He is not available. I don’t know (about the FA Cup final) – but maybe.”The City boss added on the prospect of facing Brighton: “We have analysed them this week.“We know how well they defend. It is always difficult. We just have to focus on the game we play.”2

The City boss preferred to concentrate on his own players rather than worry about Liverpool facing Wolves.He said: “It is better to focus on what we have to do.“If we win we don’t have to look at anything else. City have already won the Carabao Cup this term and will try to add the FA Cup next week.Guardiola said: “First of all it’s a dream to be here, I didn’t expect it when we were seven points behind.“We’ve shown many things. If we make back to back it would be nice but nothing is going to change too much – the fact is we have done incredibly well all season.”
