Manchester United manager latest: Massimiliano Allegri dismisses speculation he wants Old Trafford job
Manchester United managerial target Massimiliano Allegri has commented on reports linking him with taking the Old Trafford job at the end of the season.United are on the lookout for a new coach to succeed Jose Mourinho, who was sacked earlier this month and replaced by club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis.Solskjaer has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the current campaign, and has started life with his former club brilliantly, winning both his opening matches in a convincing manner.1

However, Allegri has downplayed suggestions he could depart Italy in the summer, as he appears ready to see through his existing contract.Speaking in a press conference, Allegri said: “I still have a year and a half on my contract. I’m fine here and we’re doing important things.”Other favourites to become Manchester United’s next permanent manager include Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid coach, ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, and Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham.
